Sophia   is a 3 pound teacup poodle.  Her coat is a rich heavy texture that resembles black velvet.

Sophia was just a tiny girl when she came to live with us.  We felt very protective of her (because of her size).  The entire family kept a close eye on her as we gently placed her on the kitchen floor to let her get acclimated to her new surroundings.  We were so afraid that she would be scared, and cry for someone to pick her up.  To our amazement, she took off prancing around the kitchen, peeking in every corner, sniffing at furniture, and cabinets.  Then she turned to us with almost a grin, and dashed off toward the family room, with leaps and bounds.  This tiny little creature was in no way intimidated, or afraid.  She knew she was "home", and she made it hers!!!

Before Sophia's first birthday she enjoyed a special treat of visiting Mrs.VanCott's Kindergartenclass.  Sophia snuggled, cuddled and exchanged butterfly kisses with all the K5 students.  She loves children, and they loved her.
